There are THREE ways to use doTERRA essential oils

When essential oils are diffused or inhaled, they can be very stimulating, calming, or soothing. Diffusing essential oils can also clense and purify the air, and have a dramaitc effect on mood and emotions. Inhale an essential oil on-the-go by putting a drop in the palm of your hand, rubbing them together, and cupping around your nose. 

SAFETY AND USAGE TIPS

  • Experiment with different diffuser combinations. 
  • Listen to your body.
  • Clean diffuser weekly. Use lukewarm tap water. 
  • Usually use up to 6-7 drops with the appropriate amount of water for your diffuser. 

Fun Fact: The smell receptors in our nose are directly connected to the Limbic System of our brain. The Limbic System is responsible for a variety of functions including emotions, memory, and behavior, making aromatherapy one of the most effective and fastest ways to receive the benefits of essential oils.

Essential oils can also be used topically by applying them to our skin and diluting them with a carrier oil. The best places to apply essential oils are the bottoms of the feet, spine, and back of the neck. When looking for a targeted support, apply directly to the area of the body you want to address. Upset tummy = apply DigestZen around belly button and lower abdomen area.

  • Dilution with a carrier oil is recommended to ensure a positive experience!
  • Carrier oils = Fractionated Coconut Oil (FCO) // Grape Seed Oil // Almond Oil
  • Avoid oils near eyes and never drop oils directly into the eyes or ears. 
  • Citrus oils are photosensitive, so avoid using them 24 hours before direct sun exposure. 
  • Extra dilution for young children, elderly, and individuals with sensitive skin.

  • Less is more. Use small amounts, often. Consistency is key!

Certain essential oils can be used as dietary supplements for targeted wellness. This method is great to use when dealing with support of the digestive or immune systems, and when looking to aid the body in cleansing and detoxifying. 

SAFETY AND USAGE TIPS

  • Make sure the bottle has a "supplement fact box" on it. That means it can be used internally!
  • Add a drop to your daily water intake in a glass cup. 
  • A drop under the tongue also works as a homemade supplement in a veggie capsule. 
  • When adding oils to your daily water intake, always use a glass or stainless steel cup.
  • Straws should also be stainless steel!
  • Less is more. Use small amounts, often. Consistency is key!
